Who Are Nominet?
Nominet operates at the heart of e-commerce in the UK, running one of the world's largest Internet registries with over five million domain names. With highly respected industry credentials, Nominet are entrusted with the management of .uk Internet domain names, employ 130 staff, and have an annual turnover of £14m.

Core functions
Nominet has responsibility for the accuracy and maintenance of records on the UK register database. Nominet has four core functions:
- Maintenance of the accuracy and completeness of the register database to high professional standards - Nominet has responsibility for the integrity of the database and the processes supporting it, in other words for maintaining the accuracy of the details that it contains
- Ensuring consistency and fairness in the registration and transfer of domain names - domain name registration follows a rigorous management process designed to give confidence to registrants and users of .uk domain names. Registrations are carried out in accordance with a set of clear rules and the transfer, suspension and cancellation of domain names follow strict operational procedures.
- Making the relevant data publicly available - Nominet provides an on-line search facility for people to find out whether a .uk domain name has been registered and, if so, by whom. This facility is called the WHOIS service.
- Offering a Dispute Resolution Service based on mediation - A small proportion - less than 0.1% - of registrations give rise to a dispute, for example, as to who has the greater right to use the name. More detailed information on Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service is also available.
Terms and Conditions
Strategies are members of Nominet and as such can register any domain name ending in .uk on the behalf of our customers. Please note that if you register any domain name ending in .uk your attention is drawn to the fact that you must agree not only to our Terms and Conditions but also those of Nominet UK. By registering a domain ending in .uk you are entering a legally binding contract with Nominet..
Our Charges
Strategies currently charges £25 for the purchase and renewal of all domains ending in .uk. This is for a 1 year registration and unless previously agreed Strategies will renew and purchase all domain names for two years. These feeds include all maintenance charges but are excluding VAT.
Please note that we will invoice you 2 months in advance leading up to the renewal of your domain name. Failure to pay this invoice by the renewal date of your domain may mean that Strategies does not renew your domain on your behalf.
